I was wondering why there are more Yaoi than Yuri titles in circulation both RAW and scanlated. Any thoughts?

Yaoi is more popular for some reason? (Well, that's obvious)
It's a phenomenon.

It's the fangirls. For some reason, they like their favorite male characters together like that. I for one, don't really care as long as I don't see any of it

I think the male/female ratio for otaku is about the same in Japan

I thought it had more to do with the male domination over in Japan... but best not go there huh.

Mm...maybe because it's more the straight guys that read yuri for fanservice, and of course, us. So, like Gabe said, the fangirls go crazy for yaoi. Obviously they wouldn't all go 'woohoo' for yuri too, so there's pretty much a small circle into yuri. Oh those blasted fangirls...

Well there are some yaoi fangirls that go for yuri too, but the number is small. Never underestimate the power of yaoi fangirls, they do anything to make yaoi more popular than yuri - unintentionally, of course.

Maybe the world just wouldn't be able to handle too much yuri goodness...

The last statistics I saw indicate that reading is done by more women than men in both Japan and the US. This includes standard novels and Manga. Why do you think there is so much chick lit out there now?
